He worked for Lucas Lighting, firstly as an optical engineer and later as the Engineering and Design Manager, until the business was taken over by Carello in 1987. Subsequently the Carello business was integrated into Magneti Marelli Lighting Division and in 1993 he moved to work in Italy as the Manager of the Forward Lighting Development Department.
Between 1994 and 1998 he was transferred within the MM organisation to work on other product lines.
In 1998 he joined Koito as Technical Director of its European operation. He was involved in the establishment of the Koito European Technical Centre.
DVN: What highlights do you take away from your experience with Lucas, Magneti-Marelli, and Koito?
GD : Lucas was an excellent innovative company that contributed much to vehicle lighting. I was fortunate to be involved in the introduction of the thermosetting DMC that has become an industry standard.
