The Road Transport Department (JPJ) wants owners of imported cars to refer to the department if there are doubts concerning the Xenon headlights fitted on their cars.
JPJ Enforcement Director Salim Parlan said owners of these imported cars could bring their vehicles to the JPJ in their respective states to be checked by engineers appointed by the JPJ Automotive Engineering Division.
“They can also check via the website www.jpj.gov.my, on the list of imported car models that are installed with the permitted Xenon headlights,” he told reporters after special operations on Xenon headlights at the Awan Besar Toll Plaza on the Kesas Highway, here tonight.
Meanwhile, 28 vehicles were identified to have used xenon headlights which did not follow the standard specifications during the operation.
