Sulfone polymers, Polysulfone (PSU), Polyethersulfone (PESU), and Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU), are inherently transparent and stay strong in harsh. They readily withstand exposure to water, chemicals and heat – handling a broad range of end-use temperatures from -40°C to 200°C with some high-clarity, colored and glass fiber-reinforced grades. Various grades of the polymers are well suited as higher-temperature replacements for Polyetherimide (PEI) in reflectors and other optical components, and new water-clear grades of PSU are particularly suitable for headlamp lenses.
