GE Global Research have announced the demonstration of their new roll–to–roll manufactured organic LEDs (OLEDs). Besides the new manufacturing process itself, the demonstration represents a large, critical step towards low-cost OLEDs, which are thin organic materials sandwiched between two electrodes, which illuminate when an electrical charge is applied.
