OSRAM, Pininfarina Show Future of Auto Lighting

According to Pininfarina, the future of automotive lighting centres on products like OSRAM’s LED headlamp, which caused a sensation at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Sintesi concept by Pininfarina features a single futuristic LED headlamp powered by OSRAM.

The ultramodern headlight design emphasizes the Sintesi’s car-of-the-future concept. Instead of the usual two separate headlamps, the Sintesi headlight comprises 16 OSRAM OSTAR LEDs that formed a continuous, narrow strip of light. The efficient, high-intensity LED headlamp is one of several LED packages illuminating this concept car.

Pininfarina also chose OSRAM for the Sintesi’s daytime running lights, turn indicators, and rear light clusters. In addition, the distinctive interior lighting is highlighted with OSRAM LINEARlight FLEX LED modules.

The OSRAM OSTAR Headlamp LED technology platform allows for infinite options in the design and manufacture of traditional headlights. By the end of 2008, OSRAM plan to launch a number of different chip configurations in addition to the current 5-chip platform, enhancing their portfolio and delivering expanded design flexibility.
