Most of you have already come back from vacation ready to start the next 4 months until Christmastime. During the summer holidays, DVN worked continually to keep informing you on the automotive lighting and driver assistance market. For those of you on holidays last week, do not miss the interview of Wilfried Van Larhoven presenting the constraints of regulations and explaining how lighting is an art produced in millions of units!
And now, what’s next on the DVN docket?
Next week, we will publish a report on the US lighting market, regulations, suppliers, universities and congresses. Then we will have 2 very important events, ISAL gathering probably more than 500 worldwide experts and IAA presenting the new worldwide production and concept cars. DVN will be there and will bring you reports on both events.
We’re also working on a substantial report on LEDs, presenting all the progress of the technology mainly in headlamps. Looking farther down the road, we’re preparing the list of reports for 2012. We have in mind reports on materials in automotive lighting, strategies of premium car makers on lighting, same for generalist car makers…what would you like to see us report on in depth? Please let us know; your proposals are welcome.
We also have in mind workshops in the US and China to involve worldwide lighting players working on the new technologies arriving on the market including matters of regulation. These are exciting times for our industry—at DVN we’re glad to be the hub of the automotive lighting and driver assistance community!
Sincerely yours,
DVN General editor
