Driving Vision News: The first DELRIS congress is now closed. What do you retain a few minutes after the end?
Pr Khanh: My first feedback is that it is a very good congress, with more time for discussion between experts who were more available. The subjects were appropriated and very well presented. For the first time, lighting experts have seen the strong link between lighting and driver assistance.
DVN: How many people did you invite and how many attended?
Pr Khanh: We invited 70 people and all of them accepted. Some people attended without invitation and so we were 73.
DVN: Do you expect to organize such a congress in the next 2 years?
Pr Khanh: At the moment we are not sure. It depends on the feedback of the participants who will be given a questionnaire. We will continue only if the questionnaire is very positive, because it was very difficult to organise — as difficult as ISAL where there are about 10 times more participants.
DVN: What about the panel discussions?
Pr Khanh: It was a good success and I expect to reproduce it at ISAL.
DVN: Other innovations at ISAL?
Pr Khanh: I am working on the possibility to have a restrictive group discussing on some demonstrations of systems but the decision are not yet taken.
DVN: What about your students?
Pr Khanh: Today, there are 10 students working to get their PhD. They all have an industrial project in relationship with Opel, Audi, BMW, Yamaha and others.
I regret no deep work with some suppliers because we consider we can bring a lot to them
