As you read this newsletter, the Paris Motor Show is open. It’s a grand opportunity to get a real, live, close-up look at new concept and production cars. See at the end of the edito, 3 teaser for articles to come in our next newsletter !
For those of us who have spent many years developing automotive parts and interiors, motor shows are fascinating in a particularly special way. Beyond the spectacular concepts and the promises, they show how automakers interpret and react to customer expectations, how brands express their identities, and where and how bright the lines are between imaginative flights of fancy and fully-gestated ideas ready to leave the design studio.
The Paris show also marks the beginning of an exciting period for our DVN Interior community: on 18 – 19 November we will meet in Gothenburg, bringing together automotive and commercial vehicle specialists in a region renowned for its expertise in safety, sustainability, and human-centered design. It’ll be a golden opportunity to show, see, talk, listen, and learn about a variety of approaches to interior architecture, materials, lighting, and onboard experience.
Then, on 1 – 2 December, we do it again in Tokyo! Japanese automotive culture has always fascinated me for its attention to detail, engineering precision, material quality, and the subtle relationship between technology and user.
After our successful workshops in Shanghai and Detroit, these next two events will continue DVN Interior’s core mission № 1: connecting people who approach a given set of technical challenges with diverse cultural and industrial perspectives. I hope to see many of you in Gothenburg and Tokyo. In the meantime, enjoy Paris – and this newsletter!
