Hella have two new reversing spotlights for commercial vehicles, trailers and buses in their range. The powerful Ultra Beam with H3 halogen bulb is now available with a clear-glass cover lens. Also launched with a clear lens is the Eco 21. The P21W bulb emits its light via a facetted free-form reflector. The housing has an impact edge to protect the plastic cover lens from damage when manoeuvring. With the two new models, Hella are extending the trend of non-patterned headlamp lenses to reversing spotlights.
Since July 2006, regulations have permitted type-approved reversing spotlights on commercial vehicles, buses or trailers over six metres long. The use of auxiliary spotlights, fog lights or worklights for illuminating the rear area is not allowed.
The new legislation allows a maximum of four reversing spotlights per vehicle, two at the rear and one each per vehicle side.
