Chrysler LLC has appointed Ralph Gilles, head of Jeep/truck and advance interior design, to become vice-president of design on Sept 1.
Gilles will replace Trevor Creed, 63, who is retiring as senior vice president of design. He will report to product development chief Frank Klegon.
Gilles joined Chrysler in 1992 and is best known as the designer of the Chrysler 300 sedan.
Chrysler also named Andreas Schell, director of the company’s turnaround strategy, to head its electrical and electronics engineering operations. He succeeds Bill Mattingly, who left the company last month.
Schell, a former research engineer, joined Chrysler from Daimler in 2002.
