The headlamp is built to the SAE standard 7-inch (180mm) dimensions.
It fits directly in place of the sealed-beam tungsten-filament lamps ordinarily used in military-vehicle applications.
The ten-emitter headlamp is said to produce a beam pattern similar to that of the sealed beam tungsten lamp, compliant with old American photometrics and lacking any cutoff sufficiently sharp for visual or optical aim. Presently, the only available version runs on 24 volts and conforms to SAE standards. 12-volt and ECE-compliant versions are being contemplated.
