Main brands of VW Group, Audi, Seat, Skoda, and VW, are developing 100 projects (including redesign and restyling projects) at the same time.
Walter de’Silva, VW Group’s head of design, says his main priority is to rebuild a design language for the VW brand from two ideas: simple shapes, and balanced proportions.
“In the future VWs, you will see a horizontal development of the front: the headlamps will be aligned to the grille, which features horizontal bars” said de’Silva.
He considers the 6th generation Golf debuting late this year and mainly the next Polo, coming next year begins to reflect some of his ideas.
On the opposite, VW design boss dislikes some recent French models with extremely large, overly-designed headlamps and grilles.
