PSA highlighted the success of the Peugeot 207, sales of which reached 521,000 units, exceeding the model’s annual target of 500,000 units in its first full year of sales. The 206 continues to be sold in emerging markets including China and Malaysia. For Citroën, the highlight of 2007 was the C4 Picasso with over 200,000 units sold.
PSA continued to lead the European LCV market with registrations totalling 387,000 units, up 4.9% on a year earlier. New model launches including the Peugeot Bipper and Citroen Nemo early this year mean that the PSA LCV range will have an average age of just 2.2 years, giving it good prospects for further growth in 2008.
PSA also highlighted its environmental leadership. For the second year in a row, the group sold one million vehicles emitting less than 140 g/km of CO2, of which 750,000 were under 130 g/km. In the less than 130 g/km CO2 segment in Europe, the group’s market share was over 26%, the company said.
