Glass solutions for 360° sensor integration
Autonomous driving requires the installation of multiple sensors all around the car. To ensure vehicle occupant safety, these sensors must be properly protected so they can perform flawlessly while being subject to all kinds of road and weather conditions.
Wideye has developed sensor integration solutions based on groundbreaking infrared-transparent glass featuring superior optical quality. These Wideye glass solutions can be installed in various locations around the vehicle and are available in three product lines, each tailored to the integration requirements of OEMs and Tier1s:
- optical sensor covers: glass window for the sensor housing unit;
- glass trims: 2D or 3D shaped glass for seamless integration in the roof, fender, grille or B-pillar;
- vision glazing: integrated in existing glass parts, such as the windshield and backlite.
Leveraging numerous features – anti-reflective coating, water-repellent coating, heating functionality and more – Wideye technology ensures sensor performance and reliability while meeting stringent automotive requirements.
Growing industry interest in optical sensor integrations has seen Wideye nominated for six business awards for mass production programs in different product segments, such as windshield-mounted LiDAR, LiDAR glass covers and trims for roofline-mounted LiDAR units. Wideye is leveraging its large ecosystem, multiple partnerships and initial confirmed programs now moving into mass production phase to assert its position as a global leader in optical sensor integration, confirming its ambition to enable the deployment of fully autonomous driving.
