VEHICLE INTERIORS WHAT’S NEXT?

During Beijing Autoshow last April, the general comment from specialists was the lack of exterior design differences between the different car makers, and maybe the less importance of the exterior design.

In the same time, focus was clearly on interior. Quality of the material, comfort, infotainment, row 2 and well being were my main takeaways. Car is clearly coming a second home, while ADAS system is giving to occupants more time to relax and do other things during a long trip.

Is this trend apply also in USA?

This is what we will discuss during our first DVN Interior workshop in September 22 & 23 in Detroit. The workshop will explore innovations in:

• Interior electronics & smart surfaces
• Haptics & smart cockpits
• Displays & HMI/UX
• Interior lighting
• CMF
• Seating
• Sustainability & circularity

We will include panel discussions about automotive development hot topics:

• How to increase development / decisions speed and what have we learnt from China benchmarking? How to take benefit from AI revolution?
• Beyond screen discussions, what’s next? What is the right balance between digital and physical controls?
• Sustainability: how to embed sustainability into early-stage decision frameworks, not as a downstream trade-off.
