Description
Mobility and sustainable interior design
on October 22-23, 2024, Torino, Italy
The theme of this first-ever DVN Interior Italian Workshop was ‘Mobility and sustainable interior design’. It happened in Torino, Italy, the city which combines automotive and design.
The conference focused on the close connection between design and sustainability: how design influences the choice of sustainable materials and components for interiors and vice versa, how the circularity/sustainability of materials influences the design of interiors. Some examples of this close relationship are already present in the market: interiors made of recycled materials with patterns reproducing the appearance of natural textures, with rather unusual but beautiful surface irregularities and nature-like colors. We wanted to explore more of this new design trend, understand OEMs expectations soon in terms of sustainable materials and shed some light on the direction the interior supply chain will have to take to fulfill those expectations.
An iconic location where FIAT, one of the most automotive important Italian automotive brands, was born (today part of STELLANTIS group).
Turin is also the base of the STELLANTIS DESIGN STUDIO, STELLANTIS ‘BATTERY TECHNOLOGY CENTER and SUSTAINERA, STELLANTIS first circular economy hub.
Turin is also home of other famous automotive interior design departments, such as CHANGAN, ITALDESIGN, PININFARINA.
