The 64th IAA, International Auto Show, was very different from the 2010 and 2009 shows. More than during the 2010 Mondial in Paris, the products shown and the luxurious exhibition booths emphasise a renewed optimism this year with a welcome return of some dreamy concept and exciting production cars. From simple styling studies to full-on predictions of forthcoming production models, the numerous innovative prototypes at Frankfurt showed renewed confidence within the automotive industry. In this report, we focus on this new, brighter situation and present all the new cars exhibited in Frankfort.

Concept cars with the most innovative lighting include: Audi A2 concept, Mercedes-Benz F125, BMW i3 and i8, Alfa Romeo 4C, Citroën Tubik, Ford's striking Evos, Peugeot’s HX1 and 508 RXH, Hyundai's CUR3, Renault's Frendzy, Volvo’s Concept You, Seat's IBL, Toyota’s secondgeneration FX-86 concept, Chevrolet’s Miray, Kia’s GT, SsangYong's X1V, Subaru’s BRZ, and Mitsubishi’s PX-MiEV.
