2010’s Paris auto show was centred around one strong priority: the reduction of energy consumption.  Alternative powertrain technologies dominated the fair. The 4 main takeaway points for this Paris 2010 Mondial are:

  1. Paris 2010 Mondial is totally focused on green cars, strong confirmation of Geneva in March 2010. As a result, green promotion drowns out communication on lighting and driver assistance. And it might be said that "blue is the new green"; blue styling accents are heavily used in headlamps to emphasise eco-friendliness by bringing to mind blue sky.
  2. Thanks to the unlimited styling possibilities of LEDs and the differentiating looks of advanced lighting technology and technique, cars presented at this Mondial prove that there is room for new lighting technologies provided they help to reach the hearts of the customers besides improved performance and safety.
  3. For the first time since the launch of the Audi R8 and Lexus LED Headlamps 4 years ago, several new important production car models are launched with LED Headlamps.
Audi A8 and A7, Mercedes CLS, BMW 6 Series for premium cars with Full LED, and the
Nissan Leaf and new Toyota Prius for green cars with LED low beam.
Stylish and advanced Xenon Headlamps outnumber all other front light technologies displayed on premium and middle class cars. Xenon headlights appear as a technology becoming fashionable again thanks to the arrival of intelligent lighting.
