2019's got a pair of high-content lighting events: coming up soon, on the 24-25 of this month, is the Shanghai DVN Workshop, number 19 in an unbroken string of fruitful, worthwhile DVN Workshops held round the world.
And exactly five months later on 24-25 September is the 13th ISAL (International Symposium on Automotive Lighting), the famous highly scientific technical congress headed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Tran Quoc Khanh. ISAL was started in 1995 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Joachim Schmidt-Clausen as PAL (Progress in Automotive Lighting) and since its 1995 inception has been organised and put on by the Technical University of Darmstadt, 20 minutes' rail ride from Frankfurt.
ISAL's docket will include fully 58 lectures and 20 posters, selected, last month, by the ISAL steering committee members.
This week Professor Khanh shares his views on how ISAL is shaping up this year, and we're inclined to agree with his favourable opinion.

The DVN Shanghai Workshop, our 7th in Asia, will welcome 27 exhibitors—a new record. Likewise, we've been hard at work for months to make DVN Shanghai our best Workshop yet. And these aren't the only two notable events on this year's calendar. We're just back from a terrific tour of Consumer Reports' headlight testing facility, and this week we're at the SAE World Congress and Expo. Watch for detailed coverage coming soon in the Driving Vision News!

Sincerely yours

DVN President
