Hector Fratty and all of us at Driving Vision News send you our friendly wishes for a grand holiday season. This is important for our community of professionals involved in lighting and driver assistance to keep talking, listening, and progressing together. It was our original and primary target and strength to build space—both physical and figurative—to facilitate this type of synergy, to promote innovation, to grow real community, and to help our industries face unprecedented change and challenges in market conditions. It's working, too: sharing our ideas, doubts, and visions on how to excel is bringing real results, so furthering these kinds of coöperation will continue as the main ambition of Driving Vision News as we bring you reports, weekly newsletters, and workshops during this new coming year.

After our two very successful 2018 DVN workshops in Munich and Tokyo and our lidar conference in Frankfurt, all with high-level participation, we are now busily preparing our 2019 US and China Workshops which will take place respectively on 15-16 January and 24-25 April. That US Workshop is coming up soon; you'll want to register if you haven't yet done so.

In the meantime, things are happening in the US with regard to ADB. The public-comment period has closed, so this week we bring you an in-depth look at the comments filed by major stakeholders. They bring a solid basis for hope of a good result, but it's in NHTSA's hands now.

All our best wishes again for restful, festive holidays.

Sincerely yours

DVN President
